Temples In The Sky by SaQi
Jumpsuit Records' mystic sensei saQi returns in fantastic fashion with Temples in the Sky, his first full length LP since 2015's The Muse. The veteran West Coast producer/musician unveils nine surrealistic songs that push his proverbial envelope, building on a revered catalog. A roadmap of excursions that spiral into exciting new directions, one will find more than a few trademark routes from the multi-instrumentalist leading the charge. Calling on a diverse and demonstrative cast of collaborators, Temples in the Sky is a potent dose of more sophisticated saQi.
On the title track, saQi enlists the ethereal vocal stylings of Spanish phenom Mel Semé; who co-wrote the mouth-watering slow-house jam with saQi and Sasha Rose. The Jumpsuit general shines bright atop a minimalist four-on-the-floor break, a slow-burning evolution in his sound. "Honey" is a unique hip-hop joint that features the hybrid-dancehall performance of NorCal emcee Deva Believa. She seductively spits rhymes atop haunting synths, tasteful 808s, and handclaps; furthering saQi's penchant for bangin' boom-bap with a divine feminine flow.
